I tried to list a combo amp but was denied? Must I be a paid member or something? I looked in the classified's FAQ and did not see anything covering my situation.

How do you sell in Classifieds?

Yes, look over to the left, you should see a link called "Donate to upgrade today", click on that. Starting at $20 for a year, it's worth it to me to help support this great community. Plus you can sell stuff and make an avatar!
With the economy and with everything I try and sell being like pulling teeth paying up just to sell is not a good value I will have to take a pass but understand the rules. 
A supporting membership plus a solid track record of positive feedback goes a long way on this forum.
If I'm selling or buying something, that is the first thing I check. How long have they been on here, and what is their feedback rating.

If you sell on Craigslist you're just advertising it to a small amount of people in comparison and your chances to sell are smaller. If you sell on Ebay you're going to pay 10% on whatever the item sells for plus the paypal fee. Having to pay TB $20 is considerably less, and you only have to pay it once. After that you can sell as much as you want for a year (during your subscription period).

I'm going to be brutally honest, and this is not meant to hurt anyone's feelings at all, please believe me.
I buy used gear pretty much exclusively on TB, and based on what you just said, I wouldn't buy from you.
Longevity on the forum (which you have) and reputation (feedback rating) are crucial IMHO when making a transaction.
If you can't see the value for 20 bucks, well, good luck on Craigslist

Ebay would take $20 everytime you sell $200 worth of gear... you could spend $20 in gas just driving to meet someone from.craigslist....OR you can spend $20 on talkbass and sell unlimited amount of things at NO COST for a year!!
