How do you use your phaser in a band setting?

Stranglehold.

/thread.

or not... i used a Phase 90 because it has a smaller phase range, helping to keep the low and high end present, and only just phasing a decent section of the midrange. however, some might prefer other phasers with larger phase ranges. play as many as you can, and buy the one you like the most. get familiar with it's sound and what it does to your tone, and when you're playing a song that you just think needs the phaser, use it!

Phase 90 was a little too subtle for my likes, but a great starter for phasers! :]

I use mine whenever I feel the need for The Swirly.

That usually happens when chords ring, or when I need some movement to a low groove line. A rare, but essential effect for me.

I have a song on my band's myspace, with phased bass the entire time. It's just a psychedelic piece. I feel it works very well. It's an EHX Small Stone, color switch up, at about 12:00

You can hear it on

The title "Kody Tuttle was a Cowboy"

Thin Lizzy is one "classic rock" example, they often had phaser on the bass; Muse and many of the other modern alterna-metallish-rock bands use phaser among many other effects.

I like it as a subtle "flavor" just for a slightly different voice than usual. Goes with anything, and I mean anything- jazz, metal, heck even blues.

Is he using phaser or flanger in Dancing in the Moonlight?

how do i use my phaser in a band..

i step on the bypass switch. i think phaser is a LOT more musical on bass than guitar..its pretty badass. cheak out the larry graham clips on youtube where he shows his pedals, he does an arrangement of the "phantom of the opera" song with overdrive and a mutron phaser. it sounds really wild.

what particular phasers were you looking at?? i STRONGLY reccomend the red witch moon phaser. will put any MXR to shame. even vintage ones.

I actually think phasers on guitars sound superb. Maybe even better than bass. You just need to know how to use it on guitar more because they are REALLY pronounced on guitar.

....Someone hit me with the guitard stick :hiding:
