How do you wear your strap and why?

I don't think you're allowed to call them fat ends. They are plus-sized ends.

So I'm Plus Sized Freddy???.....

Incidentally, I duct tape the thin end to the headstock and put the fat end under the tone knob.....Makes for an interesting sound and entirely different technique....

I've actually used the same strap for 28 years. If anything ever happens to it... I'll be lost. It was my mom's in 1972. Brown leather. Soft and supple from decades of use. Always, fat end on the horn.

My fat horn is strapped to the end. And dressed to the right.

Fat end on upper horn with a rubber washer straplock. Skinny end has 3 holes and I attach whichever one gets an apropriate height for what I'm playing.

High - bass right up a few inches from chin - complicated stuff or things involving chords
Medium - upper horn at center of chest - country or medium busy rock.
Low - bass over belly - simple rock / punk that does not require fancy fingering.

You can get a red one free with a bottle of Grolsch beer. Or if you dont drink you can get a black one from your local hardware store for something like 20 cents each. I dont remember the size. Just take a random peg from one of your basses to the store and get one with hole just a bit smaller than it.
