I wear my strap on.
Well that's what I was wondering, but also wondering if I was missing anything for comfort. I've had a couple mishaps lately with my strap becoming disconnected from the strap button. Also, as long as the widest part of the strap is draping my shoulder, I didn't think it mattered. Anyhow, just got done installing Dunlop straplocks on 2 straps and basses. That should solve it. And I'm switching my "strap orientation" for the first time in about 30 years. I'll now be sporting wide end on upper horn as many have responded above. I think it looks cooler too.Fat end on the horn, 2nd highest setting.
I thought fat end being on the horn was universally accepted as "correct"?
I have my strap at the height where the bass rests on my lap with zero slack when sitting down with my back straight. When I stand, that height requires me to keep my right arm straight (Gary Willis conditioned me not to drop my wrist on the bass).
