How Do Your Earn Someone's Trust?

Don't care. It's nothing I "actively" do. I just try to be a nice/reliable person and it just sort of happens.

The reason I ask is because my now ex and I broke up over this situation. Long story short, she didn't like the fact that I brought over a close friend(with whom I was once flirtatious with/vice versa) when she was in dire need. And it kind of snowballed from there, so I had to cut off the relationship until I can have her trust back. So in a sense, this could very well be philosophized over. What a typical thread for OT huh?
Sounds like it should be the other way around, unless you guys are swingers.

That's the thing. The "dating prospect" is completely head over heels for her boyfriend, and we've been close friends since the beginning of high school. She knows all of this.
No. I was/still am pretty much head over heels for ex. "Dating Prospect"(whom I will now refer as to M) would only be a dating prospect if I wanted to put a gun to my temple.

Some people are just incapable of real trust. Those people aren't worth the effort, because they'll just push you away again and again.
