Double Bass How does everybidy feel about Kevin Marvins tailpieces?

I have one on my second bass. It did help the sound on this bass, but man, they are so ugly. I'm getting a Pecanic tailpiece to replace it. The improvements in response and tone are similar to what synthetic tailguts achieve based on my experience.

Just as a follow up, I got a beautiful flamed koa tailpiece from Mike Pecanic and installed it with his synthetic tailgut. When I use synthetic tailgut, I always twist the tailgut so that it crosses as it goes over the saddle. I have AB'd having it crossed and uncrossed on several basses at the shop, and having it crossed always reduces or eliminates the wolf tone and improves the response. Anyway, on my bass, the new tailpiece yielded more volume and better arco response. It also eliminated a fairly bad open G wolftone. The bass doesn't seem quite as bright, but for my taste, I'm much happier with the sound. Visually, the Pecanic tailpiece looks so much nicer than the goofy looking Marvin tailpiece.
