How Does Your Band Get to Gigs?

The singer & I usually carpool, as do the guitarist and drummer. They also pull our equipment trailer. Most of our gigs are in Austin, and they live about 50 miles out. The other member of the band drives his own truck, and sometimes pulls a trailer with his lighting gear..

The "band-bus" (trailer puller) will get gas money, usually $100, off of the top. That's also to take care of the wear and tear of pulling the trailer..

We have a ton of equipment - we put on a stadium sized show on a small stage..

We get to where we need to be on our own ... we're spread out geographically, so it's the only way. But I've always preferred to take my own ride. It's safe, reliable, comfortable ... besides, I'll be spending the next four hours with those guys ... a little quiet time is good for my soul.
