We all experience those lessons at some point. As long as we learn and don't repeat them, all is good.
My dad has a saying he drilled into our heads when we were kids:
"If you don't want to do the same job over and over, do it right the first time."

I appreciate all the feed back in this thread. While I usually take situations like this as a learning experience to fix myself, I'm definitely not knowledgeable or experienced enough. I'll take the advice several of you offered and bring to a local repair shop.

This doesn’t mean that this can’t be used as a learning experience. There are different levels and steps to learning and taking the steps one by one is generally more practical.

You wouldn’t jump to high school right out of first grade, would you?

As far as the petty arguments, there are some members here with a lot of verifiable experience who gave you good advice, but yes there are also some who have a history of petty arguments too. It’s pretty easy to figure out who is who.
