How long before a gig do you send FB invites?

My band is doing a gig at a Mexican restaurant on Cinco de Mayo (my first gig outside of a church setting).
We created an event on FB, when is the best time to send invites out to our FB friends? Should I do it now or wait until the event is closer?

Typically, we send invites out in waves as it'll tend to have your event pop up on people's walls more. We tend to start the first round of invites around 3 weeks before the gig, another 2 weeks out, and the last push about 5 days before the gig. We'll also personally message people around this time asking them to stop by and to tell their own friends about the gig.

Really depends on the age of your audience.

more than just age. you have to know your audience. we normally send our invites out about 3 weeks out, then dont really bump it again until 3 or so days before hand.

We send out a mass mailing to our fans on Wednesday or Thursday letting them know where were playing over the weekend.

Hey I got a question for the FB gurus. When I go to "invite friends" to an event I have to go through the whole list of friends and click on each one individually. This takes forever and I play in several bands and in a typical week I may have up to 4 different events to promote. Is there a way to just invite ALL your friends with one click?
