How long do you think I should keep my Squier Jazz 5 String Bass?

I've had it for about a month now and I'm just wondering, How long should I keep It? I mean... Sould I keep it my whole life? or sell it in about 12 years and buy me a fender Jazz along with some saved cash left over from savings? Please Let me know Thanks!

Depends on if you dig playing it, and dig the sound it emits.. Basses are really just wood and electronics, brands are just paint - and are completely irrelevant.

i still have my first bass and dont ever plan on selling it, it will be great to still have my first instrument i ever owned in another 20 or so years
