Been playing bass for almost 11 years, but the first three years was just noodeling about - then I got theory lessons and learned how to actually play music. I don't feel that I've developed much the last couple of years though.

Here's a recent sound clip (3 tracks bass, nothing else)

And that is exactly why my first good bass was a Ric. :D

I also started in '79. May of my freshman year in high school. I bought my first bass with lunch money that I saved for the whole school year up to that point. A dollar a day, every day from September to mid-May.

That sounds like me too....not only was my first good bass a Ric, but I talked my parents into increasing my lunch allowance ("no, really, I can hardly buy ANYTHING with just a dollar!"), spent only .50 a day on a chocolate milk and a peanut wafer bar, and saved the rest of the money to buy all those Rush and Yes records.

Funny, I didn't have a job then but my folks never asked me where I got the money to buy records. :ninja: ;)
