How long have you owned you main player ?

I've had my 1981 4001 Rickenbacker since 1987 and it suits me fine. Had a couple of Yamaha's too, still got one of them (BB1200) and they were both sweet (BB1100S was the other) but the Ricky does everything I need it too. even people who "don't like Rickey's" don't mind mine. Some guitars just have more soul than others. Mine's a good 'un :-)

Oh my..., I am in love.

I acquired my main player in May of '06. FBass BN5. 2 1/2 years and going strong. :) Subsequently traded away the previous one of 19 years. Alembic Spoiler

The bass I've played the most over the years is a jazz style bass custom made by Bill Delap, a Monterey luthier well known in certain restricted circles.

It's got a Honduras mahogany body and presently has a Warmoth bubinga neck with ebony board. It started out in life as a fretless with a 1966 Fender neck and Dimarzio single coil pickups.

Bought it new from Bill's workshop in 1982. Still sounds and plays great.

The bass to the left of it is its sister -- body from the same slab of wood, started out fretted, converted to fretless. Set neck.

I've had Scylla here for a little over two years now.

Before being supplanted by the Drozd, my old fretless five-string F-Bass had been my primary bass for around fifteen years.

I try to find a killer bass and make its voice my own for the long haul; only moving on when I need something with greater range or versatility (which, in this case, turned out to be a much-needed C-string). Gear churners never seem to understand the monogamous bliss of finding The One and devoting their time and energy to the relationship rather than the next score.

i got my carvin XB76 sometime in 2005. it was my main player untill litterally this week, then i bought an early 90's carvin LB76, that just blows it out of the water..

so my main player, i have owned for one week :bassist:

I had The One since day one. The problem is that I always want another one. ;)
