How long?

Yay first post!
So I was wondering how long after starting playing do people buy their second instrument (e.g. upgrading from your squier to something better).

That is in direct preportion to your spendable income. Looks like Mom and Pop are still furnishing food and shelter, if you find some spendable income left over at the end of the month -- put it in your equipment fund, jar, sock, whatever as GAS is bound to enter into your life.

I'm still using my first and regret buying the second on a whim. The third, I ended up selling off. I've kind of learned my lesson about gear in that, get a good setup and new strings and see how she plays. You might be surprised.
