Right now all I have is a SUB Ray 5. I sold everything else because quite frankly they didn't give me what I want and were just lying in a corner. I simply decided to keep and buy only instruments that I actually love to play and add something useful to my collection.

i'm not crazy after all, the one guy i play with actually noticed that i have three basses that sound differently today

vintage L2000 with almost dead rounds
sb-2 with la bellas
LB100 with settled down rounds

Currently only own one. My 2004 Warmoth PBass but it will be replaced soon by a Kay Pro K162 as its lighter in weight, can sound like an upright and is a hollowbody.

I bought the Squier to keep as a beater, but after the last year of using it, I kind of fell in love with it and want to actually keep it as a viable "good bass"....now I want to get an Affinity Jazz V as the "beater"...

I had really bad GAS for one of these. Then they went out of production. I don't need another P bass, but I really want to find (or build) one with a natural finish (perhaps a slight stain), black pickguard and maple board.

I have just always been drawn to that look. I used to have a '77 Fender P like that, and a late 70s Strat in that color combo.

Someday I will buy or build one along these lines. I just have a limit on how many basses I want to own.

Rebooted, because I trimmed my collection a bit.
Sold the Tune TWB53 and the Ibanez BTB. Made fifty bucks over what I spent on the Tune, but lost a hundred on the Ibanez. No biggie. They were both cool instruments, but when I'm hankering for ERB I find myself picking up the Conklin GT7 far more often so I let the others find good homes.

But I acquired a Peavey Grind 4-string, neck thru. Inexpensive, sounds and plays great.

I've always wanted a Rick, but that desire is fading. The last many I played have not been awesome, and they pick up AC line hum like crazy.

I've always wanted a Rick, but that desire is fading. The last many I played have not been awesome, and they pick up AC line hum like crazy.

I know what you mean.
The last time I played my 4003, it was quite noisy.
I'm going to line the control cavity and under the pickguard with copper foil, and ground it to see it that helps.
