How many of us GIGGING bassists use pedals?

How many effect pedals do you GIG with?

My usual setup is pretty fx laden. A line 6 M9, SA BEFpro and SWBD, TC flashback, aggie tlc, boss oc-2 , exp pedal and a Roland GR-20 synth. Tonight however, I think I'm gonna show up nekkid and just plug my bass straight to the amp,.....not sure how the band will feel about that, but I do believe that's the plan. Been a while since I went completely fx free.

Moog lowpass, big muff fuzz, dod fx25,
Line 6 dl4, mxr carbon copy, boss reverb, Ableton live and universal audio plug ins (pedal controlled by behringer fcb 1010 or similar).
I play electronic music, dub, dubstep, whatever.
Been playing for 30 + years, didn't get into fx for the first 10 or so.

I play in an original hard rock band, and I use a Boss overdrive, a Boss chorus, and a Dunlop bass wah. I find the bass sits better in the mix with just a touch of overdrive in a setting with high gain guitars. The chorus adds some depth and the wah is used sparingly for solos.

I just thought of something. I wonder if us guys who've been playing for over 30 years are more apt to NOT use effects? Maybe the guys who've started playing more recently are using more effects? I know when I started playing there weren't NEARLY as many pedal options for bass as there are today.

Maybe I should have asked how long you've been playing as well?

Any thoughts on that?

too many and theres still more that I want. :(

pbass > tuner > loop with wet/dry signal pot usually at 50:50 >loop send> byoc octavia clone > byoc dod 250 clone > green big muff > byoc superfuzz clone > byoc wah >loopreturn> dod bass EQ pedal which I just use as a clean 18db boost to drive my pre-amp stage harder > both channels of 100w tube head cranked.

The boost is pretty much always on so it's your typical overdriven tube amp sound, it's an amp made in australia by Eminar in 71, Marshall style pre-amp with Fender style power amp. Sounds like a marshall with tighter bottom. I use the wah pretty frequently. No loss of bass because of the wet/dry split, it's great. As for the fuzz, sounds dorky but the guitarist is actually my dad and he's an old man who gets tired so when he needs a break I mess around with fuzzes to fill the void. I used to use the dod 250 all the time when I was playing an SS amp but now that I have a tube head I will probably take this off the board.

Used to use an envelope filter like an auto wah but got sick of fiddling with it and never being able to get it to do what I want. After trying a friend's crybaby in my blend loop I just got a wah and ditched the filter.

genre: hard rock and doom

Seems like a reasonable guess, but it'd be hard to answer definitively in a thread/poll. I've been playing for over 30 years, and don't really use effects. Pacman has been playing longer and full-time and does.
