(By the way, that's how many in one minute, not in a day!)

The Push Up Test:
Have you ever tried it, recently? It's one of the tests for determining your overall health. I started at 20 a few weeks ago and I add one every day to see where I'll go. I'm at 35 now and I know that I can do more, but I know that at some point in the next few weeks I'm going to crap out. It's also timed to one minute.

It's actually fun and I'm curious to see where I end up.

No idea how many I can do in a minute - but my 9yo son and I do 2x20 every morning and 2x20 every night... so I'm currently doing about 80 pushups a day.

I can only eat one in a minute. They give me a brain freeze if I eat them any faster.

Seriously, I've been doing push up on my bathroom sink ( inclined push ups ) every morning before I take my shower for, sheesh .. years! I do a set of 30 and go about my day. I fear moobs :) Want to keep my chubby butt at least with a decent chest. :D

A few years ago I was obsessed with pushups and gaining more upper body strength (while heavily neglecting my legs). I was doing 120 incline pushups in the morning, would bench 10 reps of 225 lbs. during lunch at the schools gym and do 120 inclines plus 100 standards at night; I was a beast!

Now I'm just doing about 50 standards a day, all part of my weekly routine in MMA training.

-edit: just read how many in a minute, maybe 15? I do slooow reps...

I can do about 30 consecutively but could improve that for sure. Weight loss is necessary in my case (5'10 224 lbs).

I like doing a slow body control version of standard pushups...10 seconds on the way down, hold, then 10 seconds on the way up. Alternating between sets of those and minute "plank sessions" is punishing, but a great workout!

Amazing pecs = score with the ladies, jonathan. To score with the ladies.

Amazing pecs turn into saggy moobs at some point. regardless. :scowl:

im perfectly fine with my perky moobs.

and they seem to match my potbelly just fine too. :o

im actually down a belt size just from walking across the college campus instead of driving :D

i have more of a long term plan to fitness than a do lots of pushups.

Amazing pecs are the type that dont turn into saggy moobs, as they are so amazing that they are only toned to the point of definition. Not crazy body builder pecs, those are not amazing.

I had to do a fitness exam last year for a class I was doing, and one thing we had to do was the pushup test. Ours wasn't timed though; it was simply how many you can do with proper form (which, to me, is the best way to do it).

Anyways, I topped off at 66 on the exam, and I got 72 trying it just now. Keep in mind that I workout 5-6 times a week.

IME chicks dig thighs & arse more, especially while wearing shirts in rugby ;-)

Last year I was into the 60s in terms of consecutive push ups. Bodyweight squats are also awesome for at home.

Hundredpushups.com , twohundredsquats.com etc Are great sources for this kind of training.
