How many times a week does your band play/practice/gig?

Do your homework well and you need not to "rehearse" as a band per se.
Nothing worse than sitting arouns whilst someone learns their part. aaarrgghh!
Gigging is always the best way to improve your chops. Something about the lights and an audience.

I think I did pretty much the whole f'n spectrum as far as how many times I've gotten together with groups...

In my first semi-pro band, when I joined them I think we rehearsed two or three times a week for three weeks, then it was play an average of twice a week, more often than not we did three and four! If there wasn't a gig we'd schedule a rehearsal... other than that learn a new tune or two at soundcheck (that's how tight we were musically at the time).

Most of my other bands it would be two or three times a week to practice... in my third band, though, we were practicing every night from Monday to Thursday, 6:30ish to 9:30ish.

3, we're going to be getting together like 4 times this week though, we're playing a community day and are doing covers which we've been rushing to get. Having fun with improvising with them as well.

We usually practice from 2:30-3:00 until 6 or 7.

3 times, sometimes 4, but when its 3 on fridays i play in a ska band which is about 45 miles from where i live from 12-6 or 7, then on saturday a hardrock bad which is about 50 miles away from 12-9 or 10, then back to the ska band on sunday from 12-6 or 7!! Lots of Practice

We play Sunday morning, Sunday night and Wednesday night. We rehearse about once a month.

Originals band

We rehearse once a week, and play about once a month.

Oldies band

We play once or twice a week, and rehearse 2 or 3 times a year.

When I started with band I'm currently playing with, we practiced almost every day, but now we reduced it to 3-4 times a week.
We gig at least once a month, but sometimes it does happen that we have 2 gigs a week.

about twice a MONTH. It's a bit harder to get together more than that,, the drummer and I live about 100 miles away from our guitarist's house (where we practice). Hopefully we'll start playing more gigs,, thats good practice at least!
