Hello, I have a confession to make: I'm not one of you, an upright player. However, I'm posting my question for the folks here because honestly, lurking on this side has taught me more than the Electric Bass Guitar side. Nothing against the EB guys, but I'm jealous of the fairly established methods of learning the upright and how things seem more organized.
Anyway, if you'll indulge me, how many tunes do you suggest learning in say a month for someone without a required repitoire? In particular, tunes you've transcribed but also learned by reading. I feel a bit lost as I'm learning (relatively simple) tunes and it's becoming a little easier to hear parts and understand them. I feel like I might be able to replicate a song in maybe 2-4 days if I put in about 20 minutes a day (time permitting) but do I really know it, inside and out and...does that matter if say it's just playing for enjoyment?
If that's rambling in nature, I apologize and thanks for your input.
