Double Bass How much of a problem is this?

Bring it to a luthier to get it corrected before it really potentially does become a problem.
I had the same issue a little while back

The borehole was sized improperly and not straight. My luthier was not overly concerned, but I asked him to fix it anyway since it bugged me so much. The procedure was to drill it out, plug it, then bore a straight hole. The cost of repair was about $150 in my case.

Thanks - I had seen a couple of similar threads but in each case it was apparent that the bore hole was bigger than the Endpin housing- on mine it doesn’t appear so from the outside but it does on the inside. But good to know it was an inexpensive repair in your case. Thanks again!
The endpin hole is supposed to be bored with a tapered bit. Yours wasn’t. Easy fix.
