How much would a small finish crack bother you?

You might be shocked, at how much "blemish" I could tolerate.
IF it is purely cosmetic..
IF it is properly discounted...
IF it's gonna be a player, not a wall hanger..
If it gets played, by me, it's gonna get " blemished " soon enough.
How bad I wanted that bass+ how much they're willing to discount would be my only criteria.....
That is to say...as long as everything was mechanically sound once I got it.

I get that you're trying to help, and I agree with the sentiment. I buy a lot of stuff used when I can get a good deal on it. In this case, though, you're not answering my question. I asked about whether or not a blemish would keep you from buying at a slight discount, not if I should buy it used. Fort what it's worth, I looked for used. There's ONE on GC and none on reverb, and it's not that much cheaper than buying it new (about $100 cheaper than the demo, $250 cheaper than new) and it's not the color I prefer.

One of my favorite basses in my collection only cost me three hundred and nineteen dollars from MF because of a ding the size of a quarter on the back where the finish actually got knocked off. G&L tributes series JB in turquoise mist finish and maple fretboard. That bass made such an impression on me that I own a higher end Fender Jazz bass now and bounce between P and J all the time instead of just my P. If I wasn't willing to accept that finish flaw I still wouldn't have a J. I say go for it if the discount is good enough.

i would pay all i could afford for the 'ax of my dreams' no matter what it looked like!

i voted "yes, buy it." (small finish cracks can be repaired...if it keeps you up at night!) good luck! :thumbsup:

My bad, I definitely did not. I 100% would be fine with scratch and dent given your specific wants/needs.

OK. Try offering $250 off via an e-mail, and see what they say. Use the English language properly, and be very polite. They will go to 15 percent off on almost any regular priced item, so 10 percent off a blemished floor model is nothing!

If anyone here ever buys a cab from Sweetwater they will usually throw a good speakon or other cable in for nothing. Just gotta ask.

Not a great deal. They usually knock 15% off the price of new, A stock in my experience.

Ummm…. It's been relic'ed, and they should be charging you a premium????
