Oh, and buy used if possible. You can always sell it for the amount you bought it for, if you don't like it.

OK there are really two totally separate questions here:
1) Is the Chili Dog a decent substitute for the OC-2?
2) What's the most you'd pay for any pedal?

Honestly, I get the feeling question #1 is the only question the OP needs answered. He's trying to decide specifically whether the Chili Dog is a good deal, since he doesn't want to pay whatever the local price is for an OC-2.

So: Has anyone here used the Chili Dog, and would you recommend it?

THIS! Thanks Bongomania. That's what I'm asking pretty much. Is a Chili Dog good enough if I'm using the effect rarely? Or should I invest in an OC-2 either way?
