14, 14 and a half next week to be exact.

Picked it up at 9, got my first bass with my own coin ($200 is huge to a 9 year old), and just got my second one a year ago this week! No plans to quit, and just found out today that my volleyball coach is a bass player of 16 years and played in the city's all-star jazz band. I can see our between game conversation getting a bit more interesting now :D

Also:
Guitar for a few months, just to mess around on,
Drums I've been messing around with since 8,
Trumpet I played for a couple years, could still pick it up if I wanted to.

57 next Friday(the 19th), Dad gave me a bass when I was 10 in 1965. Thanks Dad!!!!
Local buddies needed a bass player in their band so I asked and got a Topline bass(junk Japanese P-clone before Japan made quality) and a Gregory Bass 60A tube amp for my 10 year old birthday.

Nice to see I am in the most popular age group. What do I win?

I will be 29 on the 29th of the month. Halloween has been a fairly intoxicated event over the years. My bass playing began when my brother took up guitar, and I wanted to do what he was doing without doing the exact same thing. For my birthday, my parents rented me a Mexican Fender bass and amp, and got me started with a teacher. It has been almost 17 years to the day, and I have loved every bit of it.

When I am happy I play. When I am sad I play. When I log off of TB I play. It's time to do one of those now. Happy bassing to all!
