How to become a pro bassist?

Here is my "idea".
Your youtube channel will be (or could be called) "A bedroom bass player", and...
....
....
and a "mean" GF who hates your bass playing".

Here is my plot.

You situate yourself comfortably on the bed in front of your "youtube" camera and start playing something (it does not matter what) on the bass, and suddenly, your GF shows up and starts arguing with you in front of the camera
like, "Jay, you completely forgot about me. Can't you kiss me?, etc...".
You can extrapolate my idea further...

Next episode.
You start playing the bass in front of the camera while your GF is trying some new clothes or swimsuits in the background...

In short.
Your youtube channel provides enough money for you to live a normal life with your GF.

So are saying it would be better for me to play in YouTube than pro not to twist words

After 14 pages what I'm seeing it coming down to is if you have to ask you probably aren't even close ready. So just have fun getting some more experience and don't worry about becoming a full time pro until you're actually making enough from gigs to pay at least half your monthly expenses. If you can't do that as a part time pro the full time thing is not at all realistic. And by the time you get the necessary skills together you might decide like a lot of players do that playing for a living is going to insure lifelong poverty and/or that a lot of the gigs you need take to to pay the bills suck the life out of you and make you hate music.

Don't worry.
I believe that adding a bf in the play would only broaden your subscription base. Even your indecisiveness could be incorporated in your plot.
The most important thing is that you are able to noodle on the bass and make good money.
The other ways of becoming a money making bass player are too difficult for a normal person .

There has already been a lot of great advice in this thread. There simply is no "right" way to go about it. You have to be a killer player that's in the right place at the right time. You can do things to help improve your odds, they've been covered ad naseum in this thread. For now, play a lot. play with anyone and everyone you can. Learn to network.
