Implemented How to control which forums are included in the "New Posts" view?

One of my favorite features of the old forum was the ability to see all new posts since my last visit, and I could configure which forums were searched for that.

I've found the "New Posts" view, but it's pulling from all forums, and I haven't been able to find anything to configure which forums to pull from.

(which relates to a general issue with the new UI, it's far less discoverable than before. This, coupled with the general UI slowness leads to serious customer experience friction. And I'm speaking as a long-time professional website developer here ...)

Similar complaint here. My normal technique before was to do a search for threads I'd posted to, and those with new posts would be in bold. If there is a way under the new software to discover which of those threads have received new posts, I have not figured it out. Searching for threads to which I've posted now does not distinguish between those with new posts and those without.

Any way to do this? The "New Posts" feature isn't nearly as useful for me as it used to me. It's probably good for me that I'm not able to stay on top of all these threads like I did before this week, but still ...

If I understand your former technique, then I believe you can now watch a thread and set it to alert when a new post arrives. All that is then easily accessible from the alert box in real time or stored for later. If I misunderstood your technique, sorry.

And... done. Click your username in the user bar and then go to "Ignore new posts". You can then select which forums you want to ignore ("hide") from your "new posts" list.

It'd be nice if clicking the parent forums would check/uncheck all those forums below.
