How to create this EQ with my "pedals"?

Hello!
I have played with EQon my PC, and this is the EQ I like this:
- Shelf cut completely everything lower than 50 Hz
- Shelf cut 200-500 moderately
- Shelf cut completely everything higher than 1500-2000 hz

I have 2 options for EQ pedal:
- 7 band EQ with sliders for 50, 120, 400, 500, 800, 4.5k, 10k
- parametric EQ with 3 parameters (so 3 frequencies, 3 Q's, 3 gains)

How would you go to get something similar to what I want using ideally one of these pedals, or using both of them is necessary.

How the heck do you get shelving EQ on anything but the lowest and highest bands?

I've never seen a parametric EQ that can do shelving, it's not what they are meant for. I've seen rackmount graphics with HPF and LPF, but not shelving.

If you are thinking about EQ pedals for live use, keep in mind that what sounds good when recording doesn't necessarily translate to what sounds good on stage.

The Source Audo EQ2 can do this if you split the two channels. You get a pair of Input high pass filters and a pair of sweepable low pass filters. Plus the other 18 EQ sliders with Q, gain and frequency. It's easily the most flexible and comprehensive small format EQ pedal currently available.

It has a low pass filter (=shelf cut everything beyond 2k)
a high pass filter (=shelf cut everythiing below 50Hz)
and a parametric mid EQ that can give you a scoop in that 500Hz area.

There are several pedals that can do a lot of what you are asking for my suggestion is either the Source Audio EQ2 or for a bit more bang for your buck then SA Ultrawave. Both have the specific digital EQ tools you need to duplicate what you are doing on your pc or DAW. Using the two pedals you have will likely result in sonic artifacts you will find undesirable.

Moral of the story, a Phillips head screw driver is a fine tool but not when you need to tighten a hex bolt.

IF you own them already just use both it sounds like you can get close if the Para EQ has sweepable frequency selection

I think there is some confusion here about high pass filters, low pass filters and shelving EQ.

Shelving EQ means the cut or boost is constant starting at the corner frequency.

A high pass filter at 50hZ means the cut increases as frequency decreases

Low shelf on left, HPF on right. Both set to the same frequency. The HPF is much more aggressive.

Are you trying those EQ settings through your head and cab? If not, those settings will sound different when put through the head and cab vs headphones or studio monitors

10 band Graffic, do the job, definitely the cheapest option
MXR is ind standard , Caline make a cheaper version ,I have used both, very similar to my ears ....
Regarding parametric EQ..
Both my suggestions are more expensive than previous mentioned graffic eqs.

If those are your 2 options, go for the 3 band parametric. You'll be able to dial in those frequencies much more accurately, and adjustable Q will let you set their width.

GMC is right. Only ther C4 can do what you like. 2 channel EQ in series

Folks are confusing HPF with low shelf and LPF with high shelf.

OP - take a screenshot of your PC EQ

Finally, I've done it with the 2 pedals:
I've abandoned the HPF and left the low frequencies alone: the bass amp doesn't render them anyway and messing with them just makes the sound thin. I heard the words of wisdom and just let them be.
So I put the 7 band EQ with -16db (max) at 10k, and -6db at 4.5k.
Then I put parametric EQ to treat high end with more detail (remove string noise, keet the attack) and lower the 200-500 area.
With a pinch of octaver in front (like 10-15 of lower octave), it sounds not bad to me, rather generic rock sound, while not touching any knob on the amp or the bass.
