If there are ever any disputes you have no proof of payment if you use cash.

I pay my rent in cash every month, the proof I paid it is called a receipt.

Not too much actually. Based on your age and the location you're looking I'm making the assumption you're a college student which means no one, and I mean NO ONE, will rent to you without a parent co-signing the lease.
