How to get certain sound

If you listen to the song Vermosapien by Abiotic it just rattles my brain how he gets his bass to sound like that

Sounds like an active bass with steel or nickel strings through an Ampeg or perhaps Mesa rig. Maybe a Warwick or Ernie Ball bass. Heard lots of effects including a whammy pedal. Some dirt/overdrive/tone shaping. And then the drums started and all was lost.

On the bass arpeggios, I also hear some chorus. Lots of emphasis on mid frequencies. low action.

Edit: that's a 5 string Warwick Thumb in the video.

As the poster above said, the bass player is using a Warwick Thumb 5 string bass. His sound is highly processed with what seems a multitude of effects. Quite interesting video, too. Thanks!
