How to get certain sound

I will never recover from the mental damage that was caused by trying to put that in the same area as "music".

haha, just kidding. But seriously, what did I just listen to?

Sounds like an active bass with steel or nickel strings through an Ampeg or perhaps Mesa rig. Maybe a Warwick or Ernie Ball bass. Heard lots of effects including a whammy pedal. Some dirt/overdrive/tone shaping. And then the drums started and all was lost.

Ah I love everyones first reaction to death metal. Thanks for the tips.
