How to get more treble from the Pbass..

A one trick pony?
I use a p-bass, and the exact same settings for jazz, country, rock, and Gnome metal.
I don't want my pony turning tricks.

Well yeah, I am sure that using different amps, outboard effect peddles, and studio processing you can make a P-bass sound all kinds of different. And it could also be that I am not really all that proficient in the subtle intricacies of manipulating the two knobs on a P-bass to exploit the versatility that so many others can.

Well at least you admit it Seriously, it isn't like having 3 pickups and an active preamp but it's not a one trick pony by any means.

That is a topic of debate. Personally, I thought the TS added mids unless it was on the last position, which was like passing the signal straight through to the jack. I greatly enjoyed the TS when I had the Fender 62 Original pickup on my Precision because it was a bit mid-deficient. Didn't need it when I switched to the Geezer. But it is a very cool little gizmo, and I know plenty of folks who love it. I did at one time.

That is exactly my beef with the Fender Original P: that it is shy in the mids, which really doesn't help anybody in a live setting does it? I'll be swapping it out for a Klein epic 62' P pickup once I have some free time. Hoping for some more useful midrange content and a smoother more subdued treble response...
Edit: The Klein has been patiently waiting in a drawer for some time now....

I agree with @JimmyM, there are plenty of options in the "varitone" type department. TS, Kellingsound, Tbone, etc. All seem great IMO. The TS is great with all the variety it has, although I prefer simplicity. I haven't used one personally, which is why I liked the mid scoop/pass option.

Tone styler is a cool device. It has detents in the pot. Each time you click, it engages a different capacitor. It decreases treble and midrange without decimating low end and clarity. What this device will not do is make a Pbass with flats brighter with the following caveat; in the most open position, its the same as bypassing the tone circuit altogether which make the pickups a little brighter...not a lot brighter, a little brighter and a little cleaner.
