How to give preference to local pickup?

I'm thinking of selling my old acoustic bass guitar. I would prefer it to be a local sale just because it's a big guy to ship, but I could be open to shipping if there is no local interest. What's the best way to go about this? Like, is it ok to say "If no local interest by X date, I'll open it up to shipping" or something along those lines? I want to give a fair shot to anyone who might be interested, but I think a local sale would be much easier. Thanks!
