How to make your Bass look worn?????

Funny, I say the same thing about shiny expensive basses. What crap. How stupid is everyone ? Why would somebody be so pretentious as to buy a $5000 bass, when a Fender P Bass or J Bass works just fine ? Bunch of Jackazzes. You could buy a pretty nice car for the same price as people spend on a bass.

roadworn or relic'd is just another paint job.. i dont see people getting this bent out of shape about sunburst basses. i dont see people over in the blue bass club getting all upset about it. next time someone wants to change there pickguard i'm gonna berate them for not loving the instrument that they bought as it is.

This lamp cheated - they faked the aged appearance. The buyer of this lamp just doesn't have the devotion to wait 35 years for a new lamp to get "worn". How weak is that ? What has our society come to, where it can't devote 35 years of time to a lamp in order to get the appearance it wants ?

What if you have a finsh that doesn't look worn no matter what? My natural 55-02 that I abuse on a regular basis looks like it did the damn day I bought it. I used to have an 83 L-2000e that was supremely road worn, but I couldn't do anything with the neck and sold it...would maybe be worth something now. lol I actually loved the Roadworn Fender I played last week. Best jazz I have had hold of in a long time.

Why ? If it's THEIR instrument, they can do whatever they want to it. Paint it with truck liner, put a tremolo on it and route it for 6 freakin' J Bass pickups, who cares ? Yeah, I wouldn't do that, but if it makes the OWNER happy, who cares ? Again, they OWN it. If they want to sell it later, they'll take the hit. Meanwhile, every "collectible" instrument that is altered makes all the "unaltered" ones more valuable.
