How to stabilizer video camera to reduce/eliminate shake

Hi Folks,

I have a pretty good video camera, but even when mounted on a solid tripod, I still get image shake due to the bass drum and bass guitar.

Anyone worked out a solution for this issue?

Vibration suppression pads (cheapest).

Wire-mount vibration isolators for camera gimbals ($$$).

Depends on what's vibrating (floor? tripod? camera?) and in response to what?

As a prelude, I would employ any available filters (i.e. HPF) and do a PEQ boost & sweep to isolate any culpable / contributory freq's while at gig volume.

Edit: google "Fabio / Apollo's Chariot"...that's some of his handiwork and he still has the raw footage.

Just to fill in the details, it's a camcorder mounted directly to a stationary tripod. Not being handled or moving.

The camera does have image stabilization settings, but even the most aggressive one doesn't work for my massive bass notes....

Zoom out.
You can use software to reduce shake, but it's meant for real shake like from handheld use.
Not a 40hz vibration shake from a blasted amp.

Most tripods have hooks to add weight to them. Take an Ampeg 8x10 or something of similar weight, but maybe a bit smaller and hang it on the hook.

Have a friend come over and pick up a cheap steadicam mount.

From what I see in music videos, "shake" is a thing. Having one of the on set cameras in a loose mount can add some excitement to your production!
