How do I groove? Well from those options, I fit none Other than play wiTh lead instrument. I don't play with lead instrument....

When I play I tend to stay with the drums and either stay with the tempo or play faster, but staying in the pocket. Usually I'll get a solid line down and then I'll jam off of it according to what everyone else in the band is doing. If the guitarist is in a solo, then i'll quiet down, but if noting particular is happening then i'll throw in variations and experiment to see what i can make up and if it sounds decent.

I am a bit of a weaver. Sometimes, I am with the drummer locked-in together tightly - sometimes I am with the rhythm guitar, sometimes I am playing a counter-melody/ harmony with the lead guitar, sometimes I am doing my own thing - and this could all be in the same song. I weave in and out like a butterfly... always conscious that I need to be weaving into the fabric of the song, and not tearing the song apart with noise. I suppose it depends very much on the style and the song.
