If you have all the money in the world with unlimited possibility in choosing the specs, how your dream bass would look like?

Here's mine:
-Short scale thunderbird with smaller body
-4 strings
-Music man headstock
-Roasted maple neck
-Rosewood fretboard
-22 stainless steel frets
-Set of emg Jazz with active preamp
-Satin dark blue top with glossy natural mahogany back
-All gold or chrome hardware

Mine would be;
chambered swamp ash body, Antique white/nitro finish
21 fret maple 4-string neck, graphite rods,
bound and blocked maple board, stainless frets
hipshot ultralight tuners/ d-tuner
Hipshot vintage bridge
Nordstrand NJ4 Vintage Pups, or maybe SD Antiquity
Star Guitar Systems wiring harness with series/parallel switch
All for 8lbs or less.

Simple and I've owned a ton of P's over the years. My walnut Squire CV 70's P bass but with a rosewood board. Y don't they do rosewood on the CV 70's?..dang! That thick 70's profile is crying out for a standard nut rosewood board.

I'd love to have a replica of a mid 80s MM Sabre, covered pickups and 3EQ. But back rout it so no control plate, no pick guard. Daphne-ish blue but with a little metal flake. Birdseye neck but painted headstock. I already know the tones and how the neck feels. It's my jam.

I think it would be a 4 but I'm on the fence since I play 5s too.

Just ordered it with Mike Bendy at Fodera, actually. I was torn between going with a 5- or 6-string, but in the end went with practicality and chose a 5er. This one basically takes the Emperor Standard 5 Classic and tweaks a few things to more my liking. It's going to be one helluva bass:

5-string Emperor, bolt-on
Solid Mahogany body
35" scale
3 piece hard rock maple neck, gloss finish
Indian rosewood fingerboard, MOP dots, and abalone butterfly logo
"Mopar" purple metallic finish, matching headstock
19mm bridge spacing
Chrome hardware, straplocks
Emperor standard preamp
Side jack, instead of front-mounted
Aguilar 5J-HC pickups in 60s spacing
White pearloid pickguard

NBD for this coming in January of 2024! LOL
