Hey, all. I'm Tim. I'm originally from Illinois, but am currently teaching English as a second language at an elementary school in South Korea. It isn't glamorous, but it feeds the GAS.
I've mostly been a guitarist for the past 13 years or so, though I've tried to pick up the bass once or twice over that time. I've recently decided to give it another go, with an eye towards really nailing the fundamentals of technique and writing bass lines before trying to go out and be Mr. Weedly-Deedly guy like I always tried to in the past (once a guitarist, always a guitarist...).
This site has a good rep on the intarwebz as being a good place for knowledge on all things bass-related, so I'm hoping becoming a member here will help me learn more and stick with things better than I did the last time I tried the whole bassist schtick. Hopefully I'll be standing in with local bands on open mic nights in no time.
