Hey, just wondering if anyone has any clips of these bases posted around. I've heard Ed Freidland's review, wondering if anyone has done any clips "basstasters" style. thanks
Friedland's review on youtube pretty much covers all the bases, IMO. He gave it such a good review, I would consider buying one if the price were right.
Never did any clips while I owned one, but I can attest to the high level of quality in these basses--only sold mine because I really have no use for a 5 and wanted to put the money toward a Valenti.
I've been looking at these as well. The Friedland video really sold me, plus I'm intrigued by the Glockenklang pre. I've seen them pop up used in the classifieds for $750-$1000, but even at the $1500 new price they look to be a good deal. Anyone have any negative comments?
Not much negative to say: the electronics are top-notch and dead quiet; the hardware is quality (the bridge is three-way adjustable, like a Hipshot A style); the action is low and clean; the fit and finish are excellent. As long as you like the particular design elements (fretboard radius, nut width, et cetera), I'd go so far as to say they are an unbeatable value at the price.
