i think there is some sort of short between the pickups neck pick on its own is massive when I turn up the bridge pickup I lose a little bit of sound and the Bridge pickup is not as loud as the neck, could this be a capacitor problem or some sort of short between the two? It's joy to play and has a thunderous sound just want to solve the issue. It is not massive difference but it is noticeable.

Cheers

Might want to try the pickups or hardware and repair forum.

Could be as simple as adjusting the pickup heights. I don't know what Gibson's spec is, you can probably find it somewhere on talkbass or elsewhere online, but I'd at least make sure they're both the same distance below the E and G with the string pressed down at the last fret.

Also, with two pickup basses, I usually prefer the tone with one pickup all the way up and one backed off a little, if you have individual volume controls.

Hope that helps.
