Hunt for a Simple EQ PJ 5 string?

I would love a nice 5ver PJ with a simple EQ or completely passive. Vol, Vol, tone if I could choose. I want a more traditional fender look for this bass and my #2 will probably be a more modern Ibanez premium down the line. Of the basses, I've considered I'm not the biggest fan of how the Yamaha BB looks or the Ibanez... I like how the Sire P7 looks but the EQ looks like too much tweaking for me. Not interested in the G&l L2500 with SO many buttons even though I bet it's awesome. I want a simple and good sounding setup. Budget under 1,500 but I prefer it to be under 1k if possible. Open to used.
