Back in 2018, I purchased a Hurley Double Shot upright bass pickup that wedges in both sides of the bridge. I only used it a couple of times and it seemed to work OK. However, late last year I tried to use it and it had lost probably 95% of its volume. The pickup had not been moved since I first installed it. So I removed from the bass and tossed it into a box. I bought another bass this year and installed it on that bass. It still has the same lack of volume that it had on the old bass. I've used the same amp for both basses. It is a Fender Rumble 100. So, I know it's not the amp. So my questions for you are: Is there anyway to fix this pickup? I've tried to contact Ryan Hurley twice about this with no response. Since I only need amplification a couple times a year, I hate to spend a lot of money ($100+) for a new pickup. Are there any pickups out there for around $100 or less? I play bluegrass and don't take breaks on the bass. I just need more volume. My amp is good about fixing less than perfect input. Thanks for all of your help.
Check with just one element. Is it better, worse, same? Rotate the element so the side facing the wing is now facing the leg. Is it better, worse, same? Mount the second element and play with the polarity as described above. Is it better, worse, same?
Also check the jack if a lead has been disconnected by force. If it is disconnected in the piezo elements it might not be repairable.
