HX Stomp Noise Issue

My HX stomp makes a “clicking” noise in the audio signal when foot switches are assigned to various parameters. If I delete the foot switch assignments the noise goes away.

The full setup is a board consisting of
HX stomp
Morningstar MC3
Dunlop mini volume (exp) pedal
Powered by CIOKS 4 + USB-C wall wart

I make some complex chains with pitch shifts/reverbs and other effects, but I can recreate the issue with a blank preset with one drive effect. Add the effect - sounds great. Assign a foot switch to bypass the block, get clicking sound. Very strange.

Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot?

thanks!

Hi - some updated info. Turns out this only happens when I’m connected by USB to my MacBook Pro (intel) running Guitar Pro 7, which leads me to believe it may be a MIDI a lock issue. Anybody experienced anything like this?
