I'm a older low ended, so I love the sound and feel of a tube amp, but at this stage of my life carrying around a all tube head is nothing I want to do. What would you TBers suggest what hybrid head is closest to sounding and feeling like a tube. A tube doesn't just have its own sound but the feel of the bass is like nothing else.

Mimicking the sound is cool, but a tube amp has a feel the the audience can feel, let me explain. When I hear or play threw a tube amp I feel the bass even at low volume. These amps you TBers have suggested I have heard or played and you are right they do mimic the sound but non come close to the feel unless turned up loud.

Then use fewer speakers with it so you can crank the head up without getting too loud. Seems like a win-win, no?

Aguilar Tone Hammer & Ampeg PF series are not hybrids.
The Tone Hammer gets pretty close to a tube sound & so does the Quilter, but also the Quilter is not a hybrid (no tubes).

Fender Bassman are under 20 lbs. and retain that old school look:

Ah,I misunderstood. My suggestion of the Quilter was just because it was so tiny, and supposed to have a tubelike response. I did know it was not a hybred,i mean hybird,i mean double-thingy amp.
:D:thumbsup:
