A minor effort compared to some of the amazing work I've seen already, but it plays and sounds great. I cannible-ized (reversibly of course) the neck, bridge, and electronics from my old 1986 Steinberger XP2 bass and built a new solid one piece mahogany body for it. The shape is very loosely based on a Mark King Alembic bass. It's just a simple Watco danish Oil finish, I couldn't bear to drown that mahogany in a gloss finish. Lots of mistakes made and painful lessons learned, mostly invisible, so I'll call it good. It balances perfectly for seated playing and is a lot warmer sounding than the original body. Hope you like it, it's got me back noodling again after a long dry spell.
