I am playing with a serial killer

Substance abusers are *ALWAYS* bipolar, and non-abusers are never as bipolar as that.

The crazy guy I mentioned, I think on page one, was not a substane abuser. Bi-Polar definitely, though.

Yeah, yeah, I've heard it all about pot, and I used to smoke myself, and it's about the same thing.

Not violent, not weird, not dramatically bipolar, but certainly not "cool" and often less tolerant and liberal than they claim, and usually, scratch that, always inconsistent.

The day I stopped frequenting that type of folks and even burned the bridges is the day my life made a huge leap in the right direction.

I dont smoke it to feel cool. To me its the equivalent of sitting down at home and having a beer after a long day of work. Im probably more liberal than I claim.

Maybe it wasnt the pot, but the type of people you were around that you needed to distance yourself from. Losers come in all flavors. The pot didnt make them that way, and if it did, they were most likely doomed from the gitgo.

Oh, man - You gotta stop. I have close family members who are bipolar, and let me tell you - it's a very real disease. It's a mental health condition with an actual definition. The definition of bipolar is NOT a substance abuser. You can't just apply the word to mean what you think it should mean.

If you would have said substance abusers are *ALWAYS* disfuctional, I would have probably agreed with you. I think that's what you meant. Maybe.

If you really meant to say that all substance abusers are bipolar, I'm going to need you to post a link to a medical article that addresses that... because as far as I know, bipolar can be real hard to diagnose and can ruin lives up until that person gets that diagnosis. If it were true what you said, then every good doctor would diagnose and treat bipolar in every addicted patient. That doesn't happen beacuse while addiction renders all addicts at least somewhat disfunctional, that doeasn't mean they are bipolar.

Hell Yeah! Being bipolar is a real chemical imbalance. It's nothing to joke about. I went over to a chick's house then found out she was bipolar one random evening. One minute perfectly normal, next minute throwing full beer bottles at people, punching people, screaming at them. She said she stopped taking her prescription because it made her feel like plastic. I asked her (over the phone, I am not that dumb) if it was better to be in an uncontrollable rage. :ninja:

You are an idiot.

Thanks for proving my point.

I have the experience. Been there, done that. As in done that.

Ending up wasting years with folks who were limiting their horizon, absolutely unable to get anything together, a few bands which failed due to folks stopping to smoke and then playing total nonsense, unable to commit to a gig.

We all are a little bit screwed up, but if someone is not capable of pulling his weight and can't concentrate on a project, either he is out, or I am out.

Im +2 on youre an idiot.

I know people who run very succesful businesses and smoke everyday. I also i know a graduate from Princeton University with a 4-0 GPA that smoked everyday before, during, and after he was in college.

And bi-polar is a very real problem. My father nearly killed himself when I was a little boy before he got help.

And maybe the problem was you were hanging with a bunch of knucklehead lazy loaffers, who also happened to smoke pot. If they were drinking beers and behaving this way would you be bashing alcohol and its users?? I really cant stand people like you sir

Keep your BS to yourself. Cop.......

"You talking me? ..... You talking to me? ..... I don't see no one else so you must be talking to me........."

30-Years ago I was living and playing around Vancouver BC with a drummer and guitar player he quit so we threw an ad in the paper and waited. .... After putting up with 3 or 4 wanks walking through the door we get a call from an experienced player who 'sounds' promising. .... One afternoon he shows, he's short, dark and heavy set. We call some tunes and count them off. He's great rips thru the tunes and we sound great, better than ever, then we stop to talk. The drummer and I pre-decided to not commit before we discuss it after and then we'll decide. We tell him that's great you're a real good player, thanks for coming out and we'll let you know. ........ Then he turned real dark and said what do you mean you're never going to find a better player than me, you guy's are jerks. .... The drummer and I are looking at each and making eye contact like, 'you go for the legs I'll go the head, we'll tie him up and throw the remains in the alley out back.' ..... Well, it took a good half hour to clean up the blood and dispose of his gear before we could call it a day and head out for a beer. ..... The next guy thru the door was the one we picked. He is a great guitar player and singer who's still a great friend. I'm god father to his son. He went on to replace Randy Bauchman in BTO for years.
So it only confirmed the fact you never commit to anything till you've slept on it first.

Thanks for proving mine too. You are a closed minded moron.

Say you got mugged, and it happened to be a black guy that did the mugging. Is every black person a criminal now? By your logic, YES.

I lolled!

the drummer in the OP seems pretty nutty to me. My personal experience with drummers is that they are the straight men (rarely drink much or toke). glad i've never run into one of these folks! what style of music were you playing with this guy?

Straight men? ...... Maybe cause they haven't been paid yet and gone on a bender.
I had one drummer who I met at a gig when he was called in at the last minute. He's dressed like 1975 (this was 1990) with way too much whore lure but he nails it and plays real good and is a funny guy. At the end of the night he asked so I gave him my number. That was Saturday night. Sunday, the next day, he calls me at 10:30 at night really out of it looking for some stuff. .... I didn't want to know what stuff he was looking for told him don't ever call me unless it's about music. ....... About 6-months later he calls me about a gig and one rehearsal. I show up at 7-pm and they're wasted but he saved me 'ONE' beer that was sitting alone in an empty frige. Which he reminded me about for the next two hours, (hey man did you get that beer?) before I excused myself and went home. ...... Fast forward about 6-months later when he calls me from jail saying he got picked up on a prior and needed a tooth brush. So I went to the jail to drop off the tooth brush and pretty well say good-bye.
