I am looking for a library of bass tabs/midi that can be played in Guitar Pro 7. I hope to find both instructional/exercise material as well as standards.

I have been searching around on the internet but the sites that come up tend to be pretty seedy. Can anyone suggest a good site to get some good material?

I agree that there's an awful lot of lousy transcriptions out there. mySongBook's seems to be better than many. I was on the site yesterday, looking for some ZZ Top MIDIs. Then I realized...why?

Root, root, root, root. Root, root, root, root. Root, root, root, root. Root, root, third, fifth.

Which sites have you looked at and decided "nah"? I've got a bunch of MIDI sites bookmarked, but many of them point to or host the same crappy MIDI files. The best ones I've found are the specialized sites, like:

Bill Evans (piano, bass, drums): Bill Evans MIDI

I am going through some of your links. There is an excellent transcription of the bass line in Bill Evans "Emily". Unfortunately, the rest of the file is gibberish. The bass and piano doesn't sync. Still that bass line is worth practicing.

The Charles Cinqüentão Midis Files look pretty good. I listened to "Brazil" one of my favorite sambas. The bass part is spicy and accurately notated.
