I assembled a thing

A couple of weeks ago I bought a Fender Jazz Bass neck to put on my MIM P bass just because I wanted to see how I liked it. Dumb reason to change a classic design I know but I did it and I'm not the first.

That left me with a perfectly good P Bass neck just sitting there doing nothing. I assessed my supply of spare parts and realized that except for a body I had enough stuff to make another P bass.

With no more reason than that I ordered a Fender body and slapped it all together. Every part on it save the actual wire I used is Fender. The setup went well and once I got it dialed in I fell in love immediately.

So satisfying to put it together yourself.

Or ya coulda looked for the YING to your YANG. I'd bet there are plenty of folks here who would consider putting a P neck on one of their old J bodies. But that is a nice looking bass and it is fun doing it yourself. Love that color.... what is that ... a cream or an aged white?
