I have the output turned almost all the way down, and if I hit the low ends hard the limit light comes on. And if I turn it up the limit light comes on almost all the time and it sounds distorted. It's a 450W half stack. I don't know what I'm doing and I'm frustrated.

I bought a Behringer Half Stack today, doing something wrong

Does it have an input gain control? If so, turn the input gain ALL the way down, then turn the output up to about half. GRADUALLY bring up the input gain and see what happens.
And before you try this, is your Bass active? If so, is the battery fresh?

It´s very simple I got the same problem when I bought the one I got...
1) turn all the way up the "gain" button"
2) DO NOT USE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE 1/4 SPEAKER CABLES, GO TO YOUR NEAREST SPEAKER STORE AND buy 2 "SPEAKON CABLE" with four conductors inside (2 to for the speaker sound and 2 for the tweeter) do not use the 2 conductor SPEAKON CABLE ON IT!
3) Connect the speakon cables on (if you got the 1x15 and 2x10 connect the first speakon cable from the head to th 1x15 and the link plug to connect tho the 2x10)
4) connect your bass and turn the volume up... you will be amaze with the great difference of sound...

Enough of the Behringer bashing. It is not helping the OP. Consider your deleted post(s) your one and only warning on this issue.

Even if it's to get another Behringer, take it back...this one sounds like it's broken.Phatbass, that did seem to work. Or at least help. Turned up to half I can still get the limit light to come on, but it's not as touchy. Turning it down to what I normally play at home, while I'm practicing, it wont come on unless I hit it real hard.

I'm not using any of the bass, or ultrabass boost buttons right now. I also have to order a new jack port for my bass. After moving up to this from my 20w amp I've noticed that I really have to get that changed out immediatly.

Uhm.....No. As mentioned a little earlier, turn the gain down, set the master volume somewhere between a quarter and half, then gradually turn the gain up until the clipping/limiting light comes on, then back the gain down a little bit until it goes off and stays off.
Edit: A little late. But before you run off and buy new cables, you might want to read the owner's manual that came with the amp.
Normally you'd set the input gain for whatever Bass you're using - some have a hotter level than others and the clip light will come on earlier so you'll have to set the input gain a bit lower, or they may have a lower level so you'd set the input gain correspondingly higher. Then once you've got maximum non-clipping input, pretty well leave it alone and set the output to your desired level.
Also, it *NORMALLY* doesn't matter if the clip light is coming on a bit.
rustynuts, I haven't ordered the cables yet. I bought the amp from a friend. They bought it for their bassists who gigged with it once and quit the band. He supposed to bring me the manual. It's at his guitartists house right now. I am going to get one though even if I have to call behringer.
BTW- I saw some of the negative posts. But using my gain controls, the amp really is sounding great. I'm happy with it....now. I was getting pretty mad last night.

You might be able to find the owner's manual in PDF format online. I've found that most of my gear's manuals have been available like that, not sure if Behringer does theirs or not.
As far as the gain control, mine are usually kept right at the point where the clipping light comes on occasionally if I dig in. That's where I find the best tone from them.
