OP, I wouldn't switch just because it says "Fender" on the headstock, but if you like it better, that's a good price. If you want to upgrade in the future, you should have no problem making a few bucks on the deal.

OP, definitely pick up that MIM P for $100! If it really is mint, it's a bargain at twice the price. In the off chance you don't like it, you can sell it come out waay ahead, as others have stated.

You can't go wrong with a $100 bass. Worse thing can happen is that you take it to a guitar center and trade it on something and get more $$ in trade than you paid for it. You can always make $$ on a $100 Fender bass
