i dislike my p-neck

Many people play P basses without experiencing long term ill effects, other than posting about how great they believe the P bass to be.
so the options are:
REplace (expensive and it doesn't seem like it's a perfect drop-in)
REshape (n-n-n-nervous), or
REsign (to getting used to it).
i'm gonna need my thinking cap for this one.

It's a P-bass. If you wanted a Jazz bass, you should have ordered one.

thanks FMB, but i wasn't blaming the bass. i was hoping for some advice, and i'm very thankful to have received some. in my defense, though, it's a PJ, not a P, and the site didn't specify neck type. i'm sure there's some way i should have known better, but my time machine's in the shop. sorry if my question pissed you off or my situation struck you as well-deserved.
I'll just say that I really like SX Precision and Jazz necks, different than Fender but both comfortable. I'm surprised to hear the SX P/J neck differs from the P neck. Seems odd that they'd have a third neck size.

No hard feelings, I just skip the fluff in my posts on TB (there's enough of them already).
It's just like modding my basses. I have different basses, and each one plays and sounds differently. Sure, I could change them all to 16.5mm string spacing, shave down the necks, put a satin coat on the neck, give them all EMG DC's with Aguilar OBP-3's, and load them up with Circle K strings, but what's the point in having a different bass if I wanted it to secretly be the same?
it's an excellent example of buyer beware. the squier pj has a J neck, and so does the peavey fury. between that and the maple fretboard, i made a bad assumption that the sx pj was gonna have a j neck. if i ever find myself in that situation again, i'll know to check. in the meantime, i guess i'll just sack up and get used to it (i am gonna strip the finish and oil it, though, cuz that's just pretty).
Either play it and get some flexibility or mod it and get some experience; either way you end up on top. Sometimes getting something that isn't quite right and making perfect for you is the best way of really fine tuning what you want in a bass. Rhondo really should be more detailed on their site, even if they are a bargain bass. Good luck!
