thanks FMB, but i wasn't blaming the bass. i was hoping for some advice, and i'm very thankful to have received some. in my defense, though, it's a PJ, not a P, and the site didn't specify neck type. i'm sure there's some way i should have known better, but my time machine's in the shop. sorry if my question pissed you off or my situation struck you as well-deserved.
