...why the opinions of Marshall bass amps are so low, when most guitar players drool over their treble amps.
Why would a non-corporate (?) builder, who banks everything on the reputation of their products, have such a wide disparity in quality from one product to the next?
After all, Jim Marshall is still around, isn't he? He still fronts the cover of their website...
Not quite like some other outfits, whose founders are long gone, but some anonymous corporate entity owns the rights to market products under their name...
Why do I ask? Well, as a beginning bassist, I have been learning on a Marshall MB 30 bass amp, and I find it to be perfectly adequate.
As I now consider buying a larger, more expensive amp system, I read almost universally negative opinions about Marshall bass amps. And, I know, opinions are like ********; everybody has one, and they all stink, but can EVERYONE be that far off base?
Hence, the quandary...whether or not to invest in a Marshall MB series bass amp, albeit with more wattage than my present amp.
Opinions? Even stinky ones?
