To me it looks like the PG is cut for a humbucker but the body for a J, and the rest of the body in the pickguard-hole area was just colored in with a Sharpie. I think.

I admit it has an appeal to me. I like the finish, the cream P/U covers, and I'm a sucker for lots of switches. But the exposed holes from the bridge mod irritate me very much, and the grime and filth all over it should be removed before asking money for it. And speaking of money, yeah, he is dreaming a bit there.
But it makes me think. In addition to the missile launch switch, you could also add a car ignition keyhole. That way you can disarm the bass when you're on a bathroom break so nobody else can use it.
If it's like a real nuclear missile you'd need two keys, one for you and one for the drummer, which must be turned simultaneously and held for 3 seconds to activate the crushing overdrive circuit which destroys the world.

It looks like a bass that was used to demo switches- wonder if I can rewire it so a switch can turn the amp on/off and another one to turn down the volume on the guitarist's amp.
I think some of those switches only effect the switch function of some of the other switch switches.
I agree. The best thing about that bass is that all the funky stuff is either on or under the pickguard - put a new one on there, take off the excess baggage, and you have a decent, normal bass. At least to the eye.
I do like how the BA bridge is sunk into the body AS IT WAS ORIGINALLY INTENDED TO BE.
For the right price id be down. I’d probably rip out the neck pickup and swap the pickgaurd. The pickgaurds for p basses can be found pretty cheap if you’re not picky
Eight switches. Assuming they're all two-position, that's 256 possible combinations. I wonder what they all do? I'd love to see that thing with the pick guard removed.
And three pickups but only two knobs. I guess the front one with line hand-drawn in marker pen might be a seven-position selector for all the possible pickup combinations, and the other one's volume?

Needs a defeat switch - one that overrides all other switches.
You know how some people shove a pick under their pickguard to keep it at hand? Well it looks to me like there's one in the top right corner. Which means seller must play this bass upside down.

2 since there are only 2 pots vol and tone are on off for the p ups the top ones could be phase reverse? or series?paralell? (same i dont know) but if the price is right and you can try it first...gopher it!!!
