I Finally Got It!

I listened to it, and it does sound like an Eb or D, but the bass is tuned E-C.
The neck is simply perfect. It is 19mm at the bridge, and the neck is thin! I love my DJ5, but I always felt it was chunky compared to a Sadowsky. My Pentabuzz has the neck profile of my dreams.
I am humbled that so many people have wished me well for buying this cool bass.

Yup, that is the thing I remember the most about the one I played, it was perfect for my hands, wide and on the thin side. I love the neck on my Fbass but man that Pedulla made an impression on me that I've never forgotten, enjoy it !
That's what sold me on Pedullas. They have the best feeling necks I've ever played. They just feel perfect in my hands.
That's why I have 4....
My tuner program is jacked up! My Pedulla is B-G!
It turns the tuner I was using was malfunctioning.

My Cleartune tuner ap was defective. The bass was and is set up B-G.
Throw on a new set of strings, make sure that neck is ALMOST completely straight and BUZZ away!!!

You might still consider throwing a set of strings E-C on there at some point. It’s fun to have that high range. Someday, down the road a piece, maybe.

The strings are old and mismatched, but the neck seems perfect except two slightly buzzy notes around the 21 or 22 fret on the D and G. The bass sounds wonderful as is. I worked on the melody or head of Bright Size Life for my lesson today, and the playing and tone were great. My teacher picked it up and took his time putting it down. He is doubler and very precise with his position. He sounded fantastic!

I've owned several Pedulla's over the years and they are awesome basses.

Congrats on the new bass Doc! She's a beauty! One note for you on Pedulla's... their truss rod mechanism is different than your standard bass in that you lefty tighty, righty loosey to adjust. I know you mentioned you bought the kit from Pedulla, if you ever lose your truss rod tool, you can easily pick up a Harpsichord wrench from your local music shop and it will work well on the Pedulla truss rod nut.
